The RYA's Basic Sea Survival Course

 

A one day course, covering:

  • Lifejackets and / liferafts (including abandoning to)
  • Survival principles
  • Survival difficulties
  • Liferaft management
  • Search and Rescue
  • Distress flares

The course is in two parts, classroom theory and pool practical.

 

The practical session (up to 2 hours) includes inflating lifejackets and liferaft in the pool.  Experience swimming wearing your oilies, a lifejacket and learn how to board a liferaft including righting it if it has inflated upside down.

 

Cost is £90 for members and £95 for non-members.

 

Award - The RYA Basic Sea Survival Certificate.

Equipment required

 

Life jackets and liferaft will be provided. However participants are welcome to bring your own lifejacket if you wish to inflate it! (if you elect to use your own a £12 refund on the course fee will be made post the course). You should bring a pair of oiles to wear in the pool. If you do not have access to oilies contact us and we can probably find you some.

 

Please bring your own lunch.
