RBYC Latest  News .....   Email news items to here

January 27th 2010

We had a great turnout of members at the AGM on Monday 25th January. New rules were agreed, we had a terrific quiz to test our yachting knowledge, and we managed to raise £80 for our chosen charities at our popular raffle - this was so well subscribed that we actually ran out of tickets! There will be another opportunity to buy raffle tickets and support our charities at the dinner dance on 27th February, and at our online auction - details to follow shortly!

January 2010

Don't forget the RBYC AGM is on 25th January - an opportunity to become involved and help run the club, get to know existing members and to hear about what we've been up to over the last year.  If you would like to come along, please book. We look forward to seeing you at 7.30pm!

Dinner Dance - raffle prizes needed please!

Our fund-raising dinner dance is fast approaching (end of February) and we have some great raffle prizes on offer .....but we could do with some more so we can have another bumper year for fund raising for our chosen charities the RNLI and UKSA.

Do you have a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates you could donate? Or a trip on your yacht? Or could you ask your employer for a donation, perhaps? Members are usually very generous and have provided a staggering array of prizes over the years...could you have a look in your cupboards or take a special trip to the shops to provide something we could auction or raffle?  If you do have something, please feel free to bring it along to the next club night, or let Sue Hurley or Debs know so we can add your donation to the list.... Thanks!

New look and feel to website - we have altered the navigation to make it easier to find what you may be looking for. Please do let us know what you think of the re-design. Love it? Hate it?  Just let us know.....we listen to our members and if more adjustments are needed we'll consider them. Why not pop something on our blog to let others know what you think?

Operations Manual - the committee have been working hard to compile an operations manual which we hope members will find useful. It covers (almost) everything from the future vision and strategy of the club through to job roles and operational procedures. The document can be accessed by members from here.  Please let the committee know what you think of the Ops manual - just write an email to The Officers and Committee.
