Charitable Donations
An important activity of the club is doing our part to raise money for sailing related charities. The club has been doing this for well over a decade.
From January 2012, we will be supporting the RNLI and The Tall Ships Youth Trust
During 2011, we are supporting the RNLI and the Ellen MacArthur Trust
During 2010, we supported both the RNLI and UKSA Changing Lives. The Club raised a total of £2128.00 Contributions were presented to representatives from both charities at the club AGM on 31 January 2011.
Fund raising activities in 2011
At our AGM on 31st January 2011, members supported the first of our raffles, and we managed to raise £277.00. The on-line auction raised £1241.00, with the dinner raffle raising £290.00. We also managed to raise £140.00 from the raffle during the skittles evening last November. Other miscellaneous activities have raised £90.00.
All together, funds raised so far in 2011 have totalled £1898.00. A new yearly record and a great result for our small club!
