Fund raising in 2012   -   £4,318 and climbing!

An important activity of the club is doing our part to raise money for sailing related charities. The club has been doing this for well over a decade. 

From January 2012, we will be supporting the RNLI and The Tall Ships Youth Trust

During 2011, we supported the RNLI and the Ellen MacArthur Trust, and through the efforts of our members we raised a total of £2925 for the charities.

Online Auction

During February 2012 we held our 10 day on line auction where members contested furiously for some amazing offerings including weekend charters in the Solent and a one week yacht course in the Canaries.

The result of the auction was a staggering £2,440 towards our charities.

Our thanks must go to all those who generously donated the bids and the members who joined in. 

Dinner Dance Raffle

Our thanks go to all the organisations who donated raffle prizes for the event and to our members who bought £365 worth of tickets. Donations were received from Jane Cope, Zappas Hairdressers, RYA, Londis, Blue Mountain Golf Club and Royal Berks Racquets Club.

Charity Sail to Oz

New for this year is our "Charity sail to Oz" using the yacht miles that each of our members sail on their weekend trip towards our target miles of 12,690 n.miles. Our crew members are being asked to donate for each mile sailed.            Christmas in Sydney!
